Questions
Who can become a Story Partner?
Anyone 18 or older who lives in the United States. You'll need an Archivis account, and you'll confirm your identity and bank account with Stripe when you set up payouts.
Is this a job?
No. Story Partners are independent contractors, not employees. You choose when and how you work, there's no minimum, and you're responsible for your own taxes. Stripe sends a 1099 form at year end if you earn enough to need one.
When does a referral count?
Anyone who visits Archivis through your link is credited to you for 90 days. If they create an account in that time, they stay credited to you for good. You earn when they pay the publishing fee and publish their biography. Biographies you publish for yourself don't earn a commission.
When do I get paid?
Each commission has a hold period after the biography is published: 60 days at first, and 30 days once 3 of your commissions have cleared. After that it's paid in the next Monday payout. If the customer is refunded within 7 days, or disputes the charge with their card company, that commission is canceled.
How do I set up payouts?
Right after you sign up, you can connect a bank account through Stripe. It takes about five minutes, and you can also do it later from your dashboard. Archivis never sees your bank details.
Do I get paid for recruiting other partners?
No. Commissions are paid only on published biographies, never on signing up other partners.
